Professional Highlights:
In 1997 Mike began his professional career with
the Anaheim Angels. He rode a fast track to the
big leagues, making his Major League debut on
June 13, 1999 after only 109 professional games.
In his first at-bat, in the lead off spot he
singled against Omar Dahl. Mike made a name for
himself as an offensive threat. He has earned
numerous accolades including AAA player of the
week, AAA player of the month and in 2000 was
named as "The best pure hitter in the Anaheim
Angels organization". In addition to the
Anaheim Angels, Mike has played in the Major
Leagues with the San Diego Padres and the
Oakland Athletics. His involvement with teams
such as Toronto Blue Jays, and the Florida
Marlins earned him off-the -field awards such as
"Most community minded player" three years in a
row. Over his career Mike has set numerous
records both in the minor leagues and with his
teams. He maintained his reputation as an
offensive threat finishing with around a .300
batting average, making him one of the top
performers on each of his teams. |
